Terms of service

Draft dated

These terms apply when you or your organization use ācta. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean ācta. If you accept these terms for an organization, you confirm that you can bind that organization.

The beta

ācta is in beta. It is free during the beta. Features can change, and the service can be unavailable at times. We will tell beta users before paid plans start.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details safe, and tell us about any unauthorized use. Your organization controls who belongs to it and what each member can do.

Your content

Your organization owns the recordings, transcripts, minutes, and other content it puts into ācta. You give us permission to process that content only to provide ācta to you. To do this, we share it with service providers that help us run ācta, such as AI transcription and drafting services. The privacy policy describes the kinds of providers we use. We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Consent to record

The rules for recording a meeting differ by country, state, governing body, and organization. You are responsible for any notice and consent that your laws or policies require. ācta does not collect consent from participants for you. If your organization turns on the consent confirmation, ācta records that the person recording confirmed consent. ācta does not check that confirmation.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use ācta to break the law or to violate the rights of others.
  • Do not upload protected health information. ācta does not support it today.
  • Do not try to break, overload, or get around the security of ācta.

Records and approval

ācta drafts minutes with AI. A person in your organization reviews and approves every draft, and is responsible for its accuracy. Approval seals the minutes. After that, a change needs a change request, and each approved change creates a new version. Approved minutes are permanent records: no one can delete them in ācta.

Sharing outside your organization

You decide who receives your minutes and who gets an audit link. Recipients see the minutes you send them, and they can confirm receipt and ask for changes. An external auditor sees the approved minutes in the audit’s scope until the link expires or you revoke it. Send each link only to the person it is for.

Fees

ācta is free during the beta. Paid plans and their prices will be published before they apply to you.

Ending your use

You can stop using ācta at any time. You can download each approved document as a PDF before you stop. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken.

Changes to these terms

We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell account holders by email.
